About Board Haven

Our Story

Board Haven began as a dream shared by three passionate gamers in Toronto back in 2015. What started as weekend gaming sessions in a small apartment quickly evolved into something much bigger when we realized how difficult it was to find quality board games and knowledgeable staff in Canada.

Sarah Mitchell, our founder, had just returned from studying game design in Germany and was frustrated by the limited selection available in local stores. Together with her friends Marcus Chen and Emma Rodriguez, they decided to create the gaming destination they wished existed - a place where both newcomers and veterans could discover their next favorite game.

From our humble beginnings in a 500-square-foot storefront in Kensington Market, we've grown to become Canada's most trusted name in board gaming, serving thousands of customers across the country through our physical stores and online platform.
